F.U.Q

(Frequent Unasked Questions)

1.
The computer works like our mind. When it stalls, type the ESC key (top left of keyboard).
This should be done as well for our Mind: when it is tilting and turning about itself we should roll the dice
to exit the current program! So ESCPRISON® reminds us of the importance of removing oneself- from time to time
– from the pattern in which we are immersed.
2.
Because when you are drowning you don’t want to learn to swim but you want to be saved.
So educating the mind in times of crisis is difficult and limiting (when a vase breaks, you can certainly glue the pieces together again, but it will remain a broken vase...). It is much better to learn the ABC of navigation when the sea is calm and only then face the big sea.
3.
More than on you, it depends on your Mind or rather on your capability to educate it in Flexibility and Resilience.
The Dalai Lama says "when you lose, do not lose the lesson".
This is certainly an attitude of a very flexible and extremely resilient person.
4.
Not really, resilience goes far beyond the ability to react to the difficulties.
Resilient is the one who understands that there are no opposing winds.
A good surfer, for example, will never say that the wind was against him. There are rather the conditions that should be understood
and, within the bounds of possibility, be used for your own benefit. The task of the person is to remain vigilant and ensure that
these conditions don’t turn into conditioning. Resilience is therefore the capability to reappear fresh every morning at the
starting line saying: Here I am, I'm ready to start-again!
5.
Flexibility is related to the ability to realize that there are very different points of view (this is the vision).
Resilience works to mediate between these different and distant points of view - and it’s not so simple - integrating them into their daily lives (this is the mission).
6.
Because we are totally identified with our Mind. We do not make any distinction between us and it
(for example, we confuse our ideas with our identity). Over and above this, we are also poorly
educated on the plurality of points of view (we do not understand that they are a source of richness)
and we like to think that the problems are outside of ourselves because this is (strangely) more calming.
7.
More than losing your point of view, the risk is just to overcome it by creating a much wider perspective.
The "danger" consists of seeing new opportunities (points of view) where only limitations (one point of view) were seen before.
8.
Two overall: tolerance and gratitude. When you discover that you are not perfect, your desire to improve yourself increases and, consequently, your measure - the ability to see and deal with events - increases. Then a second effect is generated: it improves also the relational, empathic and listening ability of the whole. It is in this way that a deep sense of gratitude is born. You finally realize that the world around you –in particular the Others - offers you continuous and irreplaceable opportunities for improvement.
